LEED Green Rating System
WHAT'S YOUR VISION?
Every Project team has a vision for building performance. We expect our homes and buildings to be energy efficient, durable and low maintenance, sensitive to the environment, and especially safe and healthy. Is just meeting code good enough for your project? Or, is your vision set higher? Contects and the LEED Green Rating System can help you define, communicate, deliver, and measure a higher vision of building performance.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is an excellent way to communicate your vision to the project team and marketplace. LEED is a voluntary, third party verification program for multi-family and single family structures managed by the U.S. Green Building Council. The U.S. Green Building Council is non-profit community of professionals working to have a positive impact on energy efficiency, environmental performance and the well-being of people. LEED is a point-based certification system that measures how well a building performs. LEED recognizes performance in eight areas: Indoor Environmental Quality, Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, Site Selection, Site Development, Materials Selection, Residents' Awareness, and Innovation.
