Sited within a city historic district, the project respects the scale and proportions of the neighborhood context. The designs are rendered in regional materials and explore the connections between indoor and outdoor spaces. This home was one of the first in the nation to use the LEED for Homes program and achieved LEED Silver certification. The lessons learned by the developer-builder, the LEED Provider, and the homeowner on this project using pilot version 1.72 back in 2005 provided valuable feedback to USGBC in refining the final LEED for Homes rating system released in January 2008.
