JOHN HENDERSON, AIA, CEM, LEED AP

He has been the company president with 25 years of experience, helping clients find sustainable solutions for the built environment.

·   Holds a Bachelor of Architecture (BAR) from the University of Texas in Austin and is a 2007 candidate for a M.S. degree in Environment Science from UTSA.

·   A Certified Energy Manager - The CEM credential has become the standard for qualifying energy professionals both in the United States and abroad.  It is recognized by the U.S. DOE, the Office of Federal Energy Management, and numerous state energy offices and major utilities.

·   Task force member working with the U.S. Department of Energy, Texas A&M Energy Systems Lab., Austin Energy, and Fannie Mae to create a pilot program to reduce greenhouse gases through energy efficient residential construction in the Austin - San Antonio corridor.

·   Serves on the San Antonio-Bexar County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Pedestrian Mobility Advisory Committee (PMAC).  The group endeavors to create walkable communities and provide safe routes to schools within the larger community transportation needs.

·   Member of the International Code Council, Education Committee - This committee proposes training curriculum, reviews and edits educational material and provides feedback to the ICC Board of Directors regarding code official training and career development.

·   Member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), Greening the Codes Committee.  A technical research arm between USGBC and building regulatory agencies to identify and resolve conflicts between sustainable building methods, materials, and products and building code compliance.

·   Selected by Richard Fedrizzi, President & CEO of USGBC to represent USGBC and the sustainable building industry on the International Code Council’s Industry Advisory Committee (IAC). This committee participates in policy and procedural issues related to the development, maintenance, and implementation of the International [building] Code system.


 

ABBEY R. EHMAN, LEED AP

Abbey is project manager for the LEED for Homes program and is committed to sustainable design practices, innovative design methodology, energy-efficiency, education, and green building. She works with our single family and multi-family clients seeking high-performance in their projects.

·   Holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design with a minor in Architectural History from Texas A&M University. 

·   An active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Greater San Antonio Builders Association (GSABA), as well as a contributor to Build San Antonio Green.

·   Abbey is working with other design professionals and builders on LEED for Home projects in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, McAllen and New Orleans. She contributes her talent in sustainable design, planning, and education to encourage the growth and development of this national green rating system.

·   Worked with the City of San Antonio-Economic Development Council to develop an effective and verifiable incentive building program for new construction that encourages urbanism and sustainable growth. The City Council unanimously passed the Incentive Scorecard on June 15, 2006

·   Project Manager to create and facilitate implementation of a Green Development Plan for a $25 million dollar multi-family project. Assisted clients with funding proposals, grant applications, and tax credit requirements.


 
HEATHER GAYLE, EIT, LEED AP

Heather  is responsible for coordinating and managing the ENERGY STAR Homes program.   She has a background in mechanical engineering and is interested in innovative design methodology and energy efficiency.

·   Holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio. 

·   Project Manager for the ENERGY STAR program.  Heather works with both production and custom home builders to improve home performance through ENERGY STAR certification.

·   Certified Home Energy Rater (HERS rater).

·   Currently working with the affordable housing division of the City of San Antonio, Neighborhood Action Department, to develop HVAC performance specifications and ventilation strategies.

·   Actively working on cost-effective solutions for dehumidification, ventilation and system control strategies, which comply with the new ASHRAE 62.2 Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low-Rise Residential Buildings standard.

·   Heather works with our clients to ensure HVAC performance by providing, consulting, plan reviews, building enclosure inspections (thermal, air & moisture) and field testing of mechanical duct systems for residential projects.



 
ALISON Y. RIVENBURGH, LEED AP

Alison works with our commercial clients seeking high-performance in their projects and facilitates the LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certification process. She has an extensive background in human ecology and sustainable practices. Her senior thesis evaluated the benefits of green building and its impact on costs and performance over the lifecycle of Emory University's Whitehead Research building. 

·   Holds a Bachelor of Arts in Natural and Human Ecology and Psychology from Emory University.  Master of Environmental Management, 2007 Candidate, University of Texas at San Antonio.

·   An active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), as well as a contributor to the development of the Build San Antonio Green program.

·   LEED consulting and facilitation including: Design Charettes, Project team Training & Education, crafting Indoor Air Quality - IAQ management plans, and Creating, implementing and verifying Construction Waste Management plans

·   Project Manager to survey the energy efficiency and building performance for thirty residential houses owned by Bexar County Housing Authority.

·   Served as the Natural Resources Transportation Coordinator for the Alamo Area Council of Governments, (AACOG).

·   As a faculty research member with the Georgia Tech Research Institute-Energy and Sustainability Laboratory, Alison developed sustainable building recommendations and criteria for government projects, participated in the facilitation of educational sustainable building workshops for the Department of Defense, and formulated the Department of Defense Online Knowledge Base for Sustainable Military Facilities and Infrastructure.



 
ROSLYN T. AMPARO

Roslyn works on our architecture projects from conceptual design development through the construction management phase. She has a solid background in traditional and classical residential design including one year of study in Rome.  Her ability to create hand drawn watercolor renderings; as well as digital graphics or conceptual and final designs is a valuable resource for our team.  Roslyn holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame.
