| Contects – Consultants & Architects is led by founding partners, Chip Henderson and Debra Henderson. Since its inception, our office has operated as a small design studio where innovative talent and quality construction results in distinctive, highly functional projects. Our expertise in building technology and site ecology are combined to create enduring architecture and healthy environments while maintaining a deep appreciation of the natural environment. Our firm's work ranges from single-family residences to commercial and public buildings. Our clients include public and private institutions, corporations, private developers and individuals. Each project begins by identifying the preferences of the client, program constraints, appropriate materials and technology, and the attributes of the site. This process is about relationships and problem-solving strategies to create architectural solutions, which exceed our clients’ expectations and create a thoughtful response to the site. Realizing that vernacular solutions create a connection to the natural and cultural environment, we specify indigenous materials and engage craftsmen who have mastered building techniques, such as timber framing. Our ultimate goal is to create enduring designs through a process, which includes: client, landscape, craftsman, and community that are durable, resource efficient, cost effective and awe-inspiring. |
